When Anger Meets Christian Counseling

February 21, 2023 | By: Crystal Williams

IT IS NEVER EASY to open up about the struggles we face or the hardships we’ve experienced in our past. For Karen, the decision to be honest with herself about her need to seek Christian counseling came when she could no longer live with the anger inside her. Karen knew her growing rage was not helping her or the loved ones that needed her.

A Remarkable Transformation

February 21, 2023 | By: Crystal Williams

IT IS OFTEN SAID that God is a God of second chances, but could God indeed wipe clean a record and give a young mom of two a new life? Could He answer prayers, provide healing, guidance and complete transformation? When Allyson needed it most, God wiped her slate clean and gave her a second chance. Facing addiction, felonies, prison time and CPS charges with the threat of losing her boys, Allyson found herself at her breaking point.

Finding Joy In Reading

October 17, 2022 | By: Crystal Williams

THE “SUMMER SLIDE” is described as the loss of learning most students experience while on summer break. “Summer slide,” “brain drain,” and “summer learning loss” all describe the phenomenon that occurs when students “turn off their brains” during the summer months*. Researchers and educators concur that about two months of reading skills are lost over a single summer. The statistic only skyrockets with each higher-grade level. With its Summer Reading Program, the O.B. Vaughan Library at STCH Ministries Homes for Children Boothe Campus is committed to encouraging students to continue learning during the summer.

The Cumulative Lasting Impact One Year Made

July 11, 2022 | By: Crystal Williams

91 children. On average, 91 children* find themselves at Homes for Children on STCH Ministries Boothe Campus each year. Many come for a variety of reasons – a parent or grandparent can no longer care for them due to personal issues, health problems, severe depression, substance abuse or experiencing a season of crisis. No matter the reason, every child is welcomed with open arms.

Integrating Faith In Every Type of Work

April 4, 2022 | By: Crystal Williams

Sometimes being a stay-at-home mom can be overlooked as an occupation. While many stay-at-home moms know their work is vital, there are times the lack of validation can make them wonder, “Is there purpose in my day-to-day work?”

With the rise of the pandemic, the percentage of stay-at-home parents has increased throughout the country. Whether by preference or out of necessity, more and more parents are staying home full time with their children.

May 24, 2021

It’s Meet a Mom Monday! Today, I am so excited to introduce you to Crystal Williams! This is a local mom who I was lucky to meet while we lived in Katy, and now we have both ended up on the north side of Houston and I couldn’t be happier about it! Crystal is a loving mom to her son full time, a Faith & Lifestyle blogger, and a free lance social media manager. Crystal has such a gift with words and the gift of encouragement, and she is a bright light in the digital world.

Genuine Repentance, Genuine Action, Genuine Awakening | Romans 12: 9-12

April 28, 2019 | By: Crystal Williams

“Love In Action” (NIV), “Christian Ethics” (CBS), “Marks Of The True Christian” (ESV), “Behave Like A Christian” (NKJV)... each of these subtitles were chosen to summarize what we read in Romans 12:9-18. Don’t those titles alone sting a little? When I read a subtitle like that I am indeed intrigued, but also slightly nervous because I know any words following the title, Marks Of The True Christian, carry a serious tone and immediately it is understood that we are called to live these words out and not solely read them or pray about them.

Worship IV, Day 5: Singing Israel’s Song

November 30, 2018 | By: Crystal Williams

Read His Words Before Ours!
Exodus 15:1-18, Psalms 105:26-45, Psalm 136:1-15, 1 Peter 2:9-10

There’s a difference in reading something to get through it, and studying it to know and understand it.

Last year I didn’t just read through the Psalms in the Bible. I studied them. All 150 of them. I don’t say this to toot horns here, I share it because, with intentional study,
I am now convicted of this: One cannot discuss Biblical worship without observing the Psalms and other songs in Scripture.

Misunderstood, Day 8: Who You CAN Judge

May 16, 2018 | By: Crystal Williams

Read His Words Before Ours!
Matthew 7:1-5, Luke 6:37-42, Luke 17:3-4, Galatians 6:1-10, James 5:19-10

I was sick. You know when you’re “I just want to lay on the couch and watch movies all day” sick. Yeah, I was that sick.

Nothing soothes me more than a good Lord of The Rings marathon on days like those. I wasn’t even 30 minutes into the film when God showed me something I had overlooked that pierced my soul and shook me up.

Faces of Grace | Williams, Crystal

I never knew why he looked so sad up there.
Jesus, that is, hanging on the cross. I wondered.
Not knowing in the first place why He was even on it.

The night before Halloween of 2002, I found out. The Gospel was first shared with me that night. And while, yes, I knew there was a God and He created stuff, I knew nothing of His love and plan of redemption through Jesus. As a 12-year-old girl, sitting at the round table in our kitchen, on October 30th, I uttered my first words to Him in the form of a prayer and felt a weight lifting off my shoulders in exchange for peace. And that was just the start.
